I paid for the wrong lot or zone
Each lot has its own zone number on the signs at the entrance and on the pay station. Payment for one zone does not cover another, even if the lots are next to each other and even if the amount was the same.
The usual cause is extending a session from a distance. When you add time from the app after walking away, the app offers the zone nearest your phone, which can belong to a different lot or a different operator. The payment goes through, but to the wrong place.
Zone numbers for our Whistler lots
| Lot | Zone |
|---|---|
| Whistlers Marketplace (Lorimer Road) | 44020. Some older signs and receipts show 44009; it is the same lot. |
| Glacier Lodge public parking (Chateau Blvd) | 44573 |
| Whistler Golf Club | 44007 |
| The Marquise | 44021 |
| Aspens on Blackcomb | 44800 |
What to do if it has already happened. Payment to another lot or another operator is not a session for the lot you parked in, so a notice issued for it normally stands. You may be able to recover the misdirected payment from the operator you paid. If you believe the zone on the sign itself was wrong or missing, appeal with a photo of the sign.
Avoid it next time. Extend your session before it expires, while you are still at the vehicle, and check that the zone shown matches the sign. If you are far from the car, type the zone number rather than accepting the suggested one.
