Why did my violation notice amount increase

The amount printed on the notice is what is due if it is paid within 7 days of the date of issue. It increases after 7 days and again after 14 days. The current amount for your notice is always shown on the payment page when you enter the notice number.

The notice is placed on the vehicle at the time of the violation. Weather, other people and a car wash can all remove it, so a notice can be unknown to you until a letter arrives. The increases apply from the date on the notice regardless.

Collections. Notices unpaid about three weeks after issue are referred to a collections agency, which obtains the registered owner's address from ICBC and writes to them. Once referred, payment and correspondence go to the agency, not to us. Vehicles with unpaid notices may be towed from lots we manage.

If you think a letter is wrong, for example a notice you paid, or a vehicle you sold before the date, contact us through the support form with the notice number and proof. Do not ignore it.

Paying. Pay online with the notice number or the plate. A QR code on the notice opens the payment page for that notice. The payment page does not take appeals; those go through the appeal page.
